At Zora Health LLC (“Zora,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), your privacy and trust are important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Zora website, application, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide and personalize our meal-planning and nutrition-tracking services:
- Account information: Your email address, account ID, and optional name or profile information.
- Onboarding and nutrition information: Your age, sex, height, weight, goal weight, activity level, household size, nutrition goals, dietary preferences, allergies, disliked foods, selected meals, cooking preferences, and grocery-budget preferences.
- Meal-planning information: Meal plans, recipe selections, grocery-list information, completed meals, serving adjustments, and nutrition-tracking information.
- Technical information: Device, log, performance, and related information necessary to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
2. Optional Meal Photos and AI Analysis
You may optionally take a meal photo or choose one from your photo library and provide an accompanying food description. The photo and description are sent through Zora’s authenticated API to an AI analysis provider, currently Google Gemini. This feature is used to identify foods and estimate calories and nutrients.
Using meal-photo analysis is optional. Zora does not sell meal photos or use them for advertising.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Provide and personalize meal plans, recipe selections, grocery lists, and nutrition estimates.
- Provide account access and customer support.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
- Maintain service reliability and understand how features perform.
4. Storage and Service Providers
Some information may be stored locally on your device. If you sign in, app information may also be stored in Zora’s cloud services. We may use service providers needed to operate the app, including authentication, cloud storage, hosting, and AI analysis providers. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Zora.
5. Data Sharing and No Sale of Personal Information
Zora does not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the Services. We may also disclose information when legally required or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Zora, or the Services.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is processed. Information may remain temporarily in backups after account deletion.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no electronic transmission or storage system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. User Choices and Account Deletion
You may update available profile, nutrition, and preference information within Zora.
To permanently delete your Zora account and associated cloud data:
Confirm the deletion when prompted. If you cannot access the app, contact zora.healthy@gmail.com.
9. Children’s Privacy
Zora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the situation.
10. Nutrition and Health Disclaimer
Zora provides meal-planning tools and nutrition estimates for general informational purposes. Zora is not a medical service and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent medical conditions. Nutrition estimates may not be complete or accurate for every meal. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical or dietary advice.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date when changes are made.
